Styx
~How you met~ It was your 21st birthday. Your friends took you out to a bar to party. All of your friends were up at the bar. You really weren't into drinking so you thought it was pointless to come to a bar. You went out to the dance floor and started dancing. Some random guy started dancing with you. You thought it was weird but he didn't touch you so you didn't worry. After the song was over you went over to the bar. The guy followed you. "Hello." He said. You looked over at him and your breath caught. He was handsome. You hadn't noticed it when you were in the dim light on the dance floor. "Hello." He smiled at you. "I'm Styx. What's your name?" You snapped back into realty. "I'm ______." "It's nice to meet you _____." Before you could say anything you were dragged off by your friends. "Who were you talking to ____?" You blushed. "He said his name was Styx. Why did you drag me away?" She smiled. "Sorry. I'll let you get back to talking to him." You turned around and walked back to the bar. You didn't see Styx anywhere. You sat at the bar. You felt someone tap your shoulder. You looked behind you and saw Styx. "I thought you left." You told him. "No I was just getting something to drink." He held up two bottles. He handed you a bottle. You took it and looked at the name. "I can't even pronounce the name." He smiled. "The bar doesn't sell it to just anyone. This is German beer." You took a sip and found out it didn't taste like regular beer. "It's good." You looked up at him. He smiled. You guys talked until the beers were gone. "Do you maybe want to go outside ____?" You nodded and followed him out. You guys stood outside for a few minutes. You yawned. "Tired?" "Just a little. I got to wait until my friends are done celebrating my birthday." Styx kissed your cheek. "Happy birthday." You blushed. "Thank you." He lightly grabbed your hand. "Would you like to go and dance for a little while?" You nodded. Styx led you back in and onto the dance floor. You danced with him a couple dances. You grinded on him at the last song. Then your friends came over and got you to go home. You looked around but you lost Styx somewhere. You walked outside with your friends. Before you got in the car you heard someone yell your name. You looked around and saw Styx running towards you. You smiled as he stopped in front of you and caught his breath. He looked at you after he caught his breath. "I was hoping I could get your number before you left." You smiled and grabbed a sharpie from your car. You wrote your number down on his hand. One of your friends yelled from the car. "Good going girl. You got a hot one." You blushed. Styx smiled and kissed your cheek. "I hope you had a good birthday." You smiled as he walked away. After you dropped everyone off your room mate was talking about how hot your new friend was. You just laughed. ~The next week~ You hadn't heard from Styx since your birthday. Your room mate took you out to the mall to cheer you up. You got some new clothes. You finally started to get happy but then you saw Styx. He had a girl hanging on him. You saw him push her away. She went back over to him and whispered in his ear. You heard him cuss her out. He turned around and saw you watching him. You turned around and walked over to your room mate. She put her arm around you and walked you out to the car. "____! Wait!" You looked behind you and saw Styx running towards you. "____ get in the car." Your room mate told you. You sighed. "I want to hear what he says." Your friend sighed and got in the car. You waited for Styx to run over. He stood there and caught his breath. "I can explain." "What's there to explain? You were there with your girlfriend. That's all you need to tell me." You turned around but he grabbed your arm. "She's not my girlfriend. She's an ex. She wants me back so she’s threatening my brother." You looked at him. He let go of your arm. "She says if I don't go back out with her she's going to stop my brother from getting surgery. Her dad's my little brother’s doctor." You saw a small tear go down his cheek. You hugged him and he hugged you back tightly. "I'm sorry." You looked at his face. "I got a doctor I know. They might be able to help." He smiled. "Really?" You nodded and smiled. "Yeah. If you want to get in I'll drop my friend off back at home then we can go talk to the doctor." He nodded and got in back. You got in the back with him. Your friend looked back at you. "Why is he in the car?" "Go back to the house. I'm taking him somewhere after we drop you off." She sighed but drove home. You and Styx got to know each other better on the ride. ~At the hospital later that afternoon~ You walked in with Styx right behind you. All of the doctors were saying hi to you. You got to the front desk. "Where's my mom?" Styx looked at you but you kept looking at the nurse. "She's in with a patient. If you'll wait in the waiting room I'll tell her you’re here after she's done." You nodded and went off to the waiting room. Styx followed you and sat next to you. "So your mom's a doctor?" You nodded. He looked at the ground. "You don't have to do this." You looked over at him. "If I don't your brother won't get the surgery or you'll have to go out with her. And it didn't seem like you want to do either." He kissed your cheek. "If I had to go out with her I would have. I would do anything for my brother." You smiled. "Well you don't. My mom will help." "How can I ever repay you for this?" "You don't have to." He pulled you into a hug. You hugged back and smiled. You heard someone cough. You looked over and saw your mom. "Hi mom." Styx let go of you quickly. Your mom sat down across from you. "I guess this isn't one of your random visits?" "No it's not mom. Mom this is Styx. Styx this is doctor Thorn." "Nice to meet you doctor Thorn." "Nice to meet you too Styx. But call me Lil." Your mom looked back at you. "Styx needs your help. Well actually his little brother needs your help." You explained the whole story about his brother to your mom. She shook her head. "I'll try but I don't know what I’ll be able to do." She got up and went to talk to a nurse. Styx looked down at his hands. You put your hand on his. He looked up at you and squeezed your hand. After a half an hour your mom came back. "I got them to switch me to your brother’s doctor. I don't know what I’ll be able to do but I’ll try to help." He looked at your mom with misty eyes. "Thank you so much." She nodded and left. He hugged you tightly. "Would you like to meet my brother?" You nodded. He took you to his brother’s room. There was a 5 year old lying in the bed watching TV. The little boy looked over when he heard the door. "Styx! You're back." Styx smiled and kisses the little boys head. "Of course I'm back." He looked over at you. "Bryan, I want you to meet someone. This is _____. _____ this is Bryan." You walked over and smiled. "Hi Bryan." Bryan smiled up at you. "Hi." He looked back at Styx. "Did you bring me any candy?" Styx smiled. "Sorry. I'll bring more next time." Bryan started talking about everything. Styx stroked his brother’s hair and smiled. After a while Bryan yawned. "I think we better get going. You need to get some sleep." Bryan grabbed Styx's hand. "I don't want you to leave." Styx kissed his brother's head. "I'll be back tomorrow. And I'll bring candy." Bryan looked sad but he nodded. You walked up to Bryan. "It was good to meet you Bryan." Bryan smiled at you. "I like you. I hope you marry my brother." You blushed and Styx laughed. You and Styx left. When you were out in the car Styx turned towards you. "Thank you for everything. You gave me and my brother hope." "It wasn't a problem. I was just glad I could help. Your little brother's cute." Styx sighed. "Bryan's all I have left. Our mom died giving birth to Bryan and dad got hit by a drunk driver when Bryan was only 1. I've taken care of him since." You felt a tear run down your face. Styx reached over and wiped it off. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you cry." "It's fine. I'm sorry you lost your parents." Styx looked out the window. "I'm not. My mom would rape me when my dad wasn't home. I couldn't tell anyone. After she died dad hated Bryan. He blamed Bryan for my mom dying. I tried to keep Bryan away from him. He wouldn't even touch Bryan." You pulled into your driveway. "You'll lucky to have Bryan. And he's lucky to have you." Styx looked down and says in a small voice. "I don't think Bryan's my dad’s child." You looked at him. "You mean your mom was having an affair?" "Sort of. Do you remember what I told you my mom used to do to me?" You thought back and gasped. "He's your child?" Styx shrugged. "He might be. We never found out. I didn't want to have Bryan confused and I didn't want my dad to know what she did." He got out of the car. You got out and saw him walking away. "Styx wait!" He stopped and looked down at his feet. You ran up and hugged him. He was startled and lightly hugs you back. "It's not your fault what your mom did." Styx hid his face in your hair. You just kept hugging him tightly. It started raining. You both looked up at the sky and laughed. Styx kissed you lightly. You kissed back. It started raining harder. You and Styx ran inside your house. You got two towels and handed one to Styx. With the other one you dried your hair. Styx looked at you. "I don't think your friend's home." You looked around and saw her coat gone. "She must be out with our other friends." You sat down on the couch. Styx sat next to you and put his arm around you. You leaned into him. "Why don't you find out about Bryan now?" Styx looked at his lap. "No girl wants a guy with a kid. I don't like lying to people. And I'm afraid to find out." You hugged him and he hugged back. You laid your head on his chest. "I think you should find out. If he does turn out to be yours, you can be a great dad to him and a great brother." Styx sighed and kissed the top of your head. "Do you have a guy you like?" Styx asked randomly. You smiled. "Yeah." Styx rubbed your arm. "Would you go out with a guy like me?" You looked up at Styx and kissed him. He pulled away after a few minutes. "Is that a yes?" You smiled and nodded. Styx hugged you to his chest tightly. "Would you do something for me?" You asked him. "Anything." "I want you to find out if Bryan's your child." He laid his head on yours. "I'll do it for you." ~Two weeks later~ Someone knocked on your door. You opened it and saw it was Styx. You smiled but you saw there was something wrong. "What's the matter?" He showed you an envelope. It was the maternity test. You brought him into the living room and sat him on the couch. "Have you looked at it yet?" He shook his head. You sat next to him and hugged him. He hugged you back and looked in your eyes. "Promise me that whatever this says you'll stay with me?" You kissed his forehead. "I promise." He handed it to you. "I want you to open it." You opened it and looked at it. It said Styx was Bryan’s father. "What does it say?" You showed it to him. After he read it he went pale. You hugged Styx tightly. "It's going to be ok." He got some color back in him. "I need to go tell Bryan." You nodded and followed him to the door. He kissed you lightly but you kissed him back deeply. He pulled away and smiled. "I was so lucky to find you." You smiled. "I think I'm the lucky one." He kissed you one more time then left. ~One week later~ You were sitting in the waiting room with Styx. Bryan was getting surgery. Bryan knew Styx was his dad now and he didn't care. He was just happy to be with Styx. You’re holding Styx's hand. He couldn't sit still. After about two hours your mom came in. Styx stood up quickly and walked over to her. You walked over and stood next to him. "Bryan will be fine. The surgery went great. He's sleeping right now but you can go in and sit with him." Styx nodded. When your mom left he collapsed. You caught him and sat him in a chair. "Bryan's going to be fine." He nodded. You kissed his forehead. Styx grabbed your hand. "Thank you for all you've done. You helped Bryan and you've fixed me." You smiled. "How about you go and see Bryan now?" He nodded and walked to Bryan's room quickly. You stood out by the front desk. Your mom walked up to you. "So you finally found a boyfriend." You blushed and smiled. Your mom smiled and hugged you. "I like him. You better not let him get away." "I'm going to try not to." She kissed the top of your head then left. ~35 months later~ It's your birthday and you’re just getting off work. After Bryan got out of the hospital you had moved in with Styx. You parked in the driveway and saw all of the lights turned off. You went inside and sat on the couch. You rubbed your belly. You were three weeks pregnant and you hadn't told Styx yet. You didn't know when to tell him. You heard the door open. You looked over and saw Bryan running over to you. He jumped on the couch and started telling you about his day. You laughed and smiled. Styx leaned over the couch and kissed your cheek. Bryan was talking nonstop. "How about you go outside and play for a little while so me and your dad can talk." Bryan nodded and went outside. "He never stops talking." Styx says smiling. He sat next to you and hugged you. You hugged back. "What would you say about another kid?" You asked randomly. Styx looked at you. "I don't know. I would like another one in time. Why?" You looked at your lap and rubbed your belly. "What about now?" Styx's eyes went wide. "Are you pregnant?" You nodded and kept looking at your lap. He placed his hand on your belly. You looked up at him and saw him smiling. "I'm so happy right now. I got a beautiful girl and a son. And now I have another one on the way. The only way to make it better is if you would say yes." You raised an eyebrow. "Say yes to what?" He pulled out a ring. "Saying yes to be my wife." You felt a tear roll down your cheek. "Yes." He smiled and slipped the ring on your finger. You had your wedding after you had the baby. It was a girl. Bryan was so happy to get a family. You and Styx lived until you were old and gray. You died at the age of 97. Styx died two weeks after you. Now both of you are watching your kids and grandkids grow up from heaven.
